Lee Conner (Governor's School East '91 - Math). Lee joined the board of directors in 2014 and was elected President of the GSF in 2015.
In 2011, during the funding crisis, Lee was appointed by the Chairman of State Board of Education to the Governor's School Task Force, which worked in conjunction with the GSF to successfully fund the 2012 NC Governor's School without state appropriations and secure financing for future sessions. Lee also worked with the GSF on fundraising efforts, including organizing a fundraiser in Burlington during October of 2011.
Raised in Wilmington, NC, Lee graduated from Hoggard High School in 1993 and earned a Morehead Scholarship. In 1997, he received an AB with Honors in Economics from UNC-Chapel Hill with second major in Political Science and a minor in History. Lee returned to Chapel Hill for graduate school, earning his law degree from the UNC School of Law and his MBA from UNC's Kenan-Flagler School of Business in 2002.
