Scott C. Gayle attended GS in 1968 in Math from High Point Central High School. Scott credits Governor's School as a critical part of the reason he was awarded a Morehead Scholarship to attend UNC-CH, receiving a degree with Highest Honors in English/Creative Writing. Aftergraduating from Duke Law School in 1977, Scott practiced law in Charlotte, High Point and for the past 15 years in Greensboro, NC, focusingon business lawand commercial real estate. Scott joined Morethe Foundation board in 2010 and was Fund Drive Chair during the critical crisis year of 2011-12, and with the help of David Winslow (GS 1970) and hundreds of alumni, was able to raise over $700,000 to pay for Governor's School in 2012 with private funds after all State funding was cut. After the retirement of President Joe Milner from the board in 2012, Scott served as President for two years, and currently heads up the 2015-2015 Fund Drive. Scott encourages every alumnus and alumnae, and all friends of GS, to continue to support GS with your tax-deductible donations, large and small.
